Where are you Deborah! This is not the time to mince among the perfume and glitter! War is upon us! Our children are being hauled away and sold into slavery while we lavish ourselves with toiletries and sundry sorts of pleasures that will certainly fade and provide no shelter. Our young men stripped of their garments and dignity while the mirror holds our gaze.
Where are you Jael!? Sisera thinks he has escaped! After molesting your family and robbing your coffers he runs for shelter and now finds himself at your feet. Rise Jael, let the tent peg strike home. Let that mallet fell it’s fateful blow and smite his head to the ground! No longer shall he plunder your houses for you have pierced his temple! Judges 4:9-22.
Where are you Daughter’s of Zion! So enthrawled with thine own beauty and costly array! Your children cry out to you as they are being pulled from your side yet you hear nothing save the call of the shops and wandering eyes of men who don’t even know your name.
Wake up and snap out of your stupor! It is time to dress for battle. Rend your heart and not your clothing! Cry out to The Lord God Almighty! The enemy is upon us! They have come again, as always, to steal, plunder, enslave and destroy!
Rise up Deborah and bid Barak, “Hath not the Lord God of Israel commanded, saying, Go!” Come Deborah, thou prophetess who sees and cry unto Barak, “Up! For this is the day in which the Lord hath delivered your enemy into thine hand, is not the Lord gone out before thee?” Judges 4:14
Wake up Deborah! Arise Jael! We are at war!
